Arkansas Is Prepared

for an epidemic, that is.  According to the annual “Ready or Not” report issued by the  Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Arkansas is one of only 5 states to get a high score of 9/10 on the “ready for the flu and other dangerous diseases” scale.   Interesting.   Some would call the state’s Public Health Program (you know, the program that gives you vaccines and other services on the cheap) “socialism.”   Blanche Lincoln and her Republican buddies are probably looking at this costly government program with an eye to their hatchets.   It would save the state and the feds a lot of moolah if only those  people  insured  by private companies could have access to the vaccines (which wouldn’t be covered, after all, because vaccination is “preventive medicine”).
